Cultural Appropiation

In many countries have emerged several trends influenced by other famous subcultures.  One of them are the Thai Gangsters, they are from bangkok but they have appropieted the way mexican gangsters wear their clothes, that's why this is a great example of cultural appropiation.

On the other hand, it is funny that thai men identify themselfs as gangsters because thai's culture is pretty different from mexican gangsters, the last one is a subculture influenced by violence and people tend to be against the law, in contrast to thai people who are hardworker and very respectful.

Afro Roots, Our Roots!

When we talk about our history, we have to think about a mix of races and cultures thanks to the colonization that we had, one of those is the african culture. That's why I can't tolerate that some colombians discriminate others because of the color of their skin, we are all the same!

It is very respectable and honourable what El Observatorio de Discriminacion Racial is doing for afro-colombians, it must not be allowed that here in Colombia exists discrimination, higher levels of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, or infant mortality in black people. 

We all can support afro-colombians making people understand that afro-colombians are not different from us and they have our same rights. Then racial segregation in Colombia won't exist.

Just about me

Hi, my name is Adriana Paola Corrales Bedoya, i am 19, and actually i am studing Industrial Engineer at the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. I have lived all my life here, in Barranquilla, and i could state that i am extremely proud of it, but it is also truth that i hope to have the opportunity of living many others cultures in order to grow as a person and learn more languages. Dancing, sleeping, eating, hanging out with my friends and family, watching movies, are the things i like to do, but i really love spend my time with my little cousin, Jesús David. When i grow up, i will surely take care of him.
